SOCIAL IDENTITY
As we develop as human beings and reach our inner self, we recognize and accept space as individuals, independent beings, but always looking for acceptance and ourrelationship with the rest of society.
When we are part of a group or when we identified with a particular environment or community we could say that this is SOCIAL IDENTITY.
Social identity is a theory that includes the psychological underpinnings of discrimination between groups, composed of four elements:
Categorization: ways to say certain
things about others and ourselves.
For example: the family is atheist.
Identification: reaffirms
our self-esteem when we associate with certain groups. For example: I belong to Immigrant Women's Centre.
Comparison: compare
our groups with other groups, favorably perceived
the group to which we belong.
Psychological Distinction: we want our identity be both distinct from and
positively compared with other

Arrive from anywhere in the world
to this great country
is reason enough to highlight
our identity and proudly display any
country that we represent. The
social and personal
identity seeks to clarify who I am? Who are we in this society? But also we are actors and spectators
of our own personal and
individual story.
Social identity is a "feeling"
an emotional need. Cognitive "awareness of self and other as different
people" and active because
human beings have to "make decisions" using his freedom and will.
We can finish saying the SOCIAL IDENTITY is directly related to our life story, which will be influenced by the concepts of the world that we handle and the concepts prevailing at the time and place in which we live. Therefore, there is a mixture or a direct

IDENTIDAD SOCIAL: a medida que nos desarrollamos como seres humanos y alcanzamos nuestro conocimiento interior, damos espacio para reconocernos y aceptarnos como seres individuales e independientes, pero siempre buscando nuestra relación y aceptación con el resto de la sociedad. Cuando nos sentimos parte de un grupo o identificados con determinado ambiente o comunidad podríamos decir que esto es IDENTIDAD SOCIAL.

COMPARACION: comparamos nuestros grupos con los demás grupos, percibiendo favorablemente el grupo al que pertenecemos.

Llegar desde cualquier punto del mundo a este grandioso país es un motivo más que suficiente para resaltarnuestra identidad y exhibir con orgullo el país al que representamos. La identidad social y personal busca aclarar Quién soy yo? Quienes somos nosotros en esta sociedad?, pero al mismo tiempo somos protagonistas y
espectadores de nuestra propia historia personal e individual. La identidad social es un sentimiento una necesidad afectiva. Cognitiva porque toma conciencia de sí mismo y del otro como personas diferentes, y activa porque el ser humano tiene que tomar decisiones, haciendo uso de su libertad y voluntad. Podemos finalizar entonces afirmando que la IDENTIDAD SOCIAL está directamente relacionada con nuestra historia de vida, que será influenciada por los conceptos del mundo que manejamos y por los conceptos que predominan en la época y lugar en que vivimos.
